Pick'em apps look alike until you read the details. Eight things to compare before you deposit, from where you can play to payout speed and bonus rules.
Payday Fantasy · Product
The short answer: check eight things before you deposit. Where you can play, how entries pay, which sports are on the board, what happens when a player doesn't play, how you deposit, how fast you get paid, the bonus rules, and the support and limit tools. The right app is the one whose answers fit how you play.
Each check below says what to look for on any app, followed by Payday Fantasy's own answer so you have a reference point.
Pick'em apps are available state by state, and most check your location in real time when you enter a paid contest. What usually matters is where you are when you play, not where you live. Age minimums also differ by state.
On Payday Fantasy: paid contests are open in 23 states plus Washington, DC, for US residents 18 or older (19 in Nebraska) who are physically in an eligible state. You can create an account from anywhere, and paid contests unlock once you're in an eligible state. See the full list of states.
Look at three things: how many picks an entry can hold, the smallest entry fee, and whether there's a format that still pays if you miss a pick. Then check the payout cap, because large multipliers often come with a limit per entry.
On Payday Fantasy: entries take 2 to 10 picks, from $1. MAX pays when every pick hits. FLEX still pays, at a reduced multiplier, if you miss exactly one. Payouts are capped at $10,000 per entry (maximum multiplier 100x), and limits can vary by account. MAX vs FLEX explained.
If you only follow the NFL or NBA, almost any app will cover you. If you follow tennis, golf, MMA or esports, check the board during the season, because coverage varies a lot between apps. Some apps also offer games beyond pick'em.
On Payday Fantasy: 12 sports: NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball, WNBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, tennis, golf, MMA and Counter-Strike 2. Beyond pick'em there are Survivor contests, peer-to-peer play, alt lines, live picks, and a Marketplace where you can copy or fade other players' entries. How CS2 pick'em works.
Injuries, scratches and postponements happen every week, so read the void rules before you need them. Check whether a voided pick is removed and the entry repriced, when the whole entry is refunded, and whether there's protection for a player who gets hurt mid-game.
On Payday Fantasy: a player who doesn't play is voided, not scored as a loss. The pick is removed and the entry is recalculated on the picks that are left. If fewer than two valid picks from two different teams remain, the entry fee comes back. Injury protection also covers a player who leaves injured in the first half (or first period) and doesn't return. How injury protection works, sport by sport.
Make sure the app takes the payment method you actually use, and check the minimum deposit and any fees. Also check whether a deposit has to be played through before you can withdraw it.
On Payday Fantasy: deposits start at $5 with no Payday fee. You can pay by debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, bank transfer (Pay by Bank / ACH) or Bitcoin/crypto. Deposits must be played through once, on Main Wallet entries, before they can be withdrawn. How the Payday wallet works.
A headline like "fast payouts" can mean very different things, so look past it. Ask how long the review takes, how the money arrives once it's approved, and whether there's a minimum or a weekly limit.
On Payday Fantasy: paid instantly after approval. Every withdrawal request gets an identity and security review within 24 hours, often faster. Once approved, instant bank transfer and debit card payouts usually arrive within minutes, and ACH takes 1 to 2 business days. Withdrawals start at $10, with up to $1,000 in any rolling seven days.
A big headline number means little without the terms. Check whether bonus cash can be withdrawn, which entries it works on, whether it adds to a play-through requirement, and whether it expires.
On Payday Fantasy: bonus cash sits in a separate Bonus Wallet and works on MAX entries only, when you choose to use it with the Bonus Cash button. It can't be withdrawn, but anything you win with it goes to your Main Wallet, and it doesn't expire while your account is active. A deposit bonus adds to the play-through requirement. Offers are one per person, household or device. See current promotions.
Check how you reach support (live chat, email or only a form) and which tools you have to control your play, such as deposit limits and self-exclusion.
On Payday Fantasy: live chat in the app usually replies within minutes. You can set deposit limits in your account settings. Self-exclusion locks your account for new entries and deposits, and you can still log in to withdraw your balance. Is Payday Fantasy legit?
