MAX vs FLEX: how Payday Fantasy entries pay out

MAX pays the most but needs every pick to hit. FLEX pays when one or more picks miss. Here is how to choose the right entry type for your picks.

Every Payday Fantasy entry is a set of player props: you pick MORE or LESS on a stat line, add between 2 and 10 picks, and choose how the entry pays out. That last choice is where MAX and FLEX come in.

MAX: every pick has to hit

A MAX entry pays only when all of your picks hit. In exchange, it carries the highest multiplier for that number of picks. One miss and the entry settles at zero, which is why MAX suits a small number of picks you feel strongly about.

FLEX: room to miss

A FLEX entry still pays when one or more picks miss. Depending on the size of the entry, you can miss one, two or three picks and still cash, at a reduced multiplier compared with MAX. FLEX is the safer shape for larger entries, where one cold player should not wipe out the whole slip.

Rules that apply to both

  • 2 to 10 picks per entry, each a MORE or LESS on a single stat line.
  • Picks must come from at least two different teams, and no player can appear twice in one entry.
  • Entries start at $1. Payouts are capped at $10,000 or 100x, whichever comes first.
  • Winnings are paid instantly when the entry settles.

Which one should you play?

Think about how correlated your picks are. If you are confident in two or three lines that do not depend on each other, MAX gives you the bigger number. If you are building a five- or six-pick entry across a full slate, FLEX turns one bad break into a smaller win instead of a loss.
